hug rug squares

“knit a square to show you care”

This year we are supporting The Nattering Knitter, and her team who make and gather these hug rugs, by asking for squares from our lovely crafting visitors.

They have donated over 7,000 hug rugs to Hospice Dunedin, Women’s Refuge, Gore Hospital, and more.

Knitting: garter stitch, cast on 40 stitches and knit 80 rows.

Crochet: a granny square of 10 rounds

Please bring along your completed squares,

as we will have a collection point in the hall; and possibly someone who will be making rugs from them during Saturday, too.

You can find The Nattering Knitter on both Facebook and YouTube.

Thinking of staying overnight?

Gore has great options.

The nearby Charlton Motel is kindly offering a discount to attendees;

and there is plenty of camping space at the

A&P Showgrounds or the Gore Town & Country Club.

We couldn’t achieve our dream without those who share our vision. We cannot thank them enough.
